After leaving Tech School at Sheppard AFB, I received orders for the #1 base selection I had made, which was Peterson AFB, Colorado Springs, CO.  I was thrilled as some of my classmates were going to Iceland, Greenland, Alaska, and North Dakota.  I spent the next 3 years working with some wonderful servicemen and women at the Accounting and Finance Office at Peterson AFB.  It was there that I first began public speaking, when I was assigned to "in-process" all new servicemen from Lt Col to Airmen and calculate their travel pay.

After 3 years at Peterson AFB, I (Michael) was bored.  Wanting to see more of the world I volunteered for overseas duty and Germany was my #1 selection.  Yes I was quickly given orders to move to Ramstein AB, Germany for 2 more years of active duty.  My time in Germany was remarkable and memorable.  Meeting many new friends, and finding a great church with a wonderful pastor that helped shape much of my Christian life for years to come.
